The state government has launched the Swavalambi Sarathi Scheme specifically for unemployed youth. Under this scheme, beneficiaries can receive a subsidy of up to ₹4 lakh for purchasing a taxi or a goods transport vehicle, making it easier to start their own business.
Benefits of the Scheme:
The government provides financial assistance covering up to 50% of the vehicle cost, with a maximum subsidy of ₹4 lakh. The remaining amount can be arranged through a bank loan, which is made accessible under supportive terms.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must be permanent residents of Karnataka. Priority is given to candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and minority communities. The age of the applicant should be between 18 and 45 years. A valid driving license is mandatory. Additionally, the annual family income must fall within the prescribed limit of ₹2 lakh to ₹4.5 lakh.

Applicants need to submit Aadhaar card, caste and income certificates, valid driving license, bank passbook copy, and a recent photograph.
Application Process:
Applications can be submitted online through the Seva Sindhu portal or through the official websites of respective corporations such as Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Development Corporation or KMDC. After submission, authorities will verify the documents. If the number of applications is high, beneficiaries will be selected either through a lottery system or based on eligibility criteria.
