The Karnataka Government, through the Social Welfare Department, has announced the Prize Money Scholarship for the academic year 2026–27. This scheme is aimed at supporting students from Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories who perform well in their exams.
Scholarship Amount
Eligible students can receive financial assistance ranging from:
- ₹7,500 to ₹75,000, depending on their qualification level.
Eligibility Criteria
- The student must belong to SC/ST category
- Must have passed in the academic year 2026–27
- Should have secured minimum 60% marks
Scholarship Details by Education Level
1. SSLC (10th Standard) Students
- Students who score 60% or above are eligible
- No need to apply separately
- The scholarship amount will be directly credited to the student’s bank account
- Payment is usually released within 15 days after results
2. 2nd PUC (12th Standard) Students
- Must score at least 60% marks
- Eligible students will receive around ₹20,000
- Application is mandatory
- Apply through online centers (like CSC)
- Submit application printout along with documents to the Social Welfare Office
3. Degree / Higher Education Students
- Includes:
- Degree (UG)
- Postgraduate (PG)
- Diploma
- ITI
- Students scoring 60% and above can receive:
- ₹20,000 to ₹75,000
- Application must be submitted once the portal opens
Application Start Date
- Applications will begin:
- 15 days after SSLC & PUC results are announced
- For PUC and higher education:
- Application may start within 1–2 months after results
