New Delhi: The Indian Air Force (IAF) has officially released the notification for Agniveervayu Intake 02/2027 under the Agnipath Scheme, inviting applications from eligible unmarried male and female candidates across India. The recruitment drive aims to select young individuals for four years of service as Agniveervayus in the Indian Air Force.
According to the notification, the online application process will begin on 6 July 2026 and continue until 26 July 2026. The online examination is scheduled to be conducted on 22 and 23 September 2026.
Candidates applying under the Science Subjects category must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and English, securing at least 50% aggregate marks and 50% marks in English. Those holding eligible engineering diplomas or vocational qualifications may also apply. For the Other Than Science Subjects category, applicants must have passed 10+2 in any stream with the required minimum marks.
The recruitment process will take place in multiple stages. Candidates will first appear for an online written examination. Successful candidates will then undergo a Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Adaptability Tests, and a comprehensive medical examination. Final selection will be based on overall performance and fulfillment of all eligibility criteria.
Physical fitness remains a key requirement. Applicants will need to complete a 1.6-kilometre run within the prescribed time and successfully perform other fitness activities such as push-ups, sit-ups, and squats. Medical standards related to height, weight, eyesight, hearing, and overall health will also be strictly assessed.
Selected Agniveervayus will serve in the Indian Air Force for a period of four years under the Agnipath Scheme. During this tenure, they will receive professional military training, gain technical skills, and participate in various operational and support roles within the Air Force.
The monthly salary package will start at approximately ₹30,000 in the first year and increase progressively to ₹40,000 in the fourth year, along with applicable allowances and benefits. Upon completion of service, Agniveervayus will receive the Seva Nidhi package, which includes their contribution, the government’s matching contribution, and accumulated interest.
The Indian Air Force stated that the Agnipath Scheme provides an opportunity for India’s youth to experience military life, develop discipline and leadership qualities, and acquire valuable skills that can benefit them in future careers.
