Karnataka Govt Offers Up to ₹5 Lakh Subsidy for Mobile Canteen Businesses-K1

Scheme Aims to Boost Youth Entrepreneurship in Hospitality Sector
The Karnataka Government has launched a dedicated subsidy scheme to encourage unemployed youth to start mobile canteen (food truck) businesses. Introduced under the Karnataka Tourism Policy 2020–25, the initiative focuses on promoting self-employment while strengthening the state’s hospitality and tourism ecosystem.

Up to 70% Financial Support for Food Truck Setup
Under this scheme, eligible applicants can receive financial assistance covering up to 70% of the total project cost, with a maximum subsidy limit of ₹5 lakh. This support significantly reduces the initial investment burden, making it easier for young entrepreneurs to enter the food business.

Free Training and Skill Development by KSTDC
To ensure business success, the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) provides a one-month free training program. The training covers key areas such as entrepreneurship, food safety, customer service, and business management. Participants are also offered free accommodation, meals, and a stipend during the training period.
