The Agriculture Department has announced great news for farmers across the state. With summer approaching and rainfall becoming unpredictable, power shortages and load shedding are common in rural areas. During such times, many farmers struggle to irrigate their crops, often leading to severe losses as fields dry up due to lack of water.

What is this scheme?
The state government, through the Agriculture Department, is offering diesel pumpsets at subsidized rates to farmers. This initiative aims to ensure that farmers can irrigate their crops even in areas without reliable electricity. By using diesel pumps, farmers can access water whenever needed, making this scheme highly beneficial and practical.
Subsidy Details
The government is providing significant financial assistance under this scheme:
- For SC/ST Farmers: Eligible farmers from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) can receive a subsidy ranging from 75% to 90% of the total cost of the diesel pumpset.
- For General/OBC Farmers: Small and marginal farmers from General and OBC categories can get a subsidy between 50% and 90%, depending on the scheme guidelines and eligibility criteria.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for this scheme, farmers must meet the following conditions:
- Must be a permanent resident of the state.
- Only small and marginal farmers are eligible.
- Must have a valid FRUITS ID (Farmer Registration ID).
- The land should be in the applicant’s name. In case of joint ownership, consent from other owners is required.
- There must be a water source in the field such as a well, borewell, pond, or farm reservoir.

Before applying, keep the following documents ready:
- Aadhaar Card copy
- Latest RTC/Pahani (land record)
- Bank passbook copy
- FRUITS ID/Farmer registration number
- Caste certificate (for SC/ST applicants)
- Passport-size photo
- Bond paper (₹20 or ₹50)
- Water source verification certificate from Village Administrative Officer (VA)
How to Apply?
Farmers can apply through two methods:
- Offline: Visit the nearest Raitha Samparka Kendra (RSK) or the Assistant Director of Agriculture office. Fill out the application form and submit it along with required documents.
- Online: Apply through the official K-Kisan portal of the Agriculture Department.
